Panasonic revealed the new Panasonic Lumix GH5 at CES 2017. With the new Venus Engine Processor, the GH5 is capable of capturing 10-bit 4:2:2 footage at 4K 30fps internally as well as 4K 60fps at a codec of 8-bit, 4:2:0 at 150Mbps. Full HD as well as 4K footage can be recorded in MOV, Mp4, AVCHD Progressive as well as AVCHD formats. And the best part is there is no recording time limit on the GH5.
It also has an updated Depth from Defocus (DFD) Autofocus system that promises improved focusing speeds, focus tracking, and up to 9fps burst with continuous AF enabled. This enables a pre-config focus-rack mode that allows user to select their AF subjects, similar to that of Canon’s Dual-Pixel AF.
Expected to ship in the United States by the end of March.
